Two people detained after a shooting near the San Francisco home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman were released without charges, the SF Standard reported. They had been held on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm.

San Francisco police responded to reports of gunfire in the neighborhood where Altman lives. The two individuals were taken into custody but held only briefly before prosecutors declined to file charges, according to the SF Standard. The outlet did not report why the district attorney’s office chose not to pursue the case.

Whether the shooting was connected to Altman’s residence or the individuals were in the area for unrelated reasons remains unclear from the SF Standard’s account. The publication did not describe any link between those detained and the OpenAI chief.
